What is ECU Cloning?

ECU Cloning is a term for cloning (copying) the ECU information to another ECU. Making another ECU same as old one.

Why Do I Need ECU Cloning services?

This method is done for a variety of reasons. One of them is damaged original modules by water, fire, electric power spikes. Software issues, loss of the vehicle’s key by the owner, having two ECUs for special cases (race and etc.), heavily modifying module to have as a spare. There are many reasons.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of ECU Cloning?

The main advantage for cloning an ECU is that it’s relatively cheap. For example, if a module is damaged and a car dealer has to fix it, a brand new module has to be purchased and coded to owner’s specific vehicle. Such job can take several weeks and cost thousands of euros. We can do cloning in a matter of hours if we have all modules present.

Main disadvantage is that the old ECU must be taken out of the vehicle and such vehicle cannot operate until the new module is installed. This job requires special knowledge.
